Laser & Light Therapy Devices for Chronic Conditions
IOT HEALTH MVP
SYMBYX Biome is a platform designed to help users manage chronic conditions using clinically backed red-light and laser therapy. The app provides personalised treatment protocols, progress tracking, and science-based insights to support pain relief, reduce inflammation, and improve gut and neurological health. With expert guidance and easy-to-follow routines, SYMBYX Biome empowers individuals to take control of their well-being from the comfort of home.
Hardware Used
Building the SYMBYX Biome mobile app from the ground up presented unique challenges across product design, mobile development, API integration, and admin panel implementation.
One of the core challenges was translating complex medical treatment protocols and photobiomodulation concepts into a seamless and intuitive user experience. Designing for a health-focused audience meant striking a balance between scientific accuracy and user-friendly language and navigation.
Another major hurdle was ensuring secure handling of sensitive user health data, requiring the implementation of HIPAA-compliant practices, encrypted storage, and secure API communications.
We also needed to create a highly scalable backend architecture capable of supporting treatment customizations, usage analytics, and multi-role access for users and practitioners.
Lastly, building a robust admin panel to manage therapy configurations, user profiles, content updates, and support tools involved crafting role-based access, real-time data visualization, and content moderation capabilities—all while keeping the interface lightweight and intuitive.
To address these challenges, we led end-to-end product design and development using a user-first, secure-by-default approach.
Our design team worked closely with SYMBYX’s stakeholders and medical advisors to create intuitive UI/UX flows that simplified therapy onboarding, guided usage, and progress tracking, ensuring accessibility for users of all ages.
For the mobile app, we developed a solution that offers consistent performance across different iOS versions. Rigorous QA testing ensured the app functioned flawlessly on a wide range of devices, particularly for hardware-intensive features such as device pairing and live therapy monitoring.
On the backend, we built a modular, RESTful API-driven architecture using scalable cloud infrastructure with role-based access controls, encrypted data flows, and performance-optimized database design.
The admin panel was custom-developed to allow internal teams to manage users, monitor session data, update therapy modules, and review feedback in real-time. It features smart filters, notification triggers, and dynamic dashboards for complete operational control.
By owning the full stack—from product design to deployment—we ensured every component of the platform is secure, scalable, and aligned with SYMBYX Biome’s long-term vision.
